Guster brings environmental consciousness to T-Town

· Posted Friday April 7, 2006 by jamie

Unfortunately I can’t say that I attended the Guster concert last week at UPS, so I have no review to offer of the concert. I’m aware of the band, I was vaguely aware of the concert, but at some point forgot about it until after the fact.

However, came across an article in Grist today about the concert. (If you’ve never heard of it, Grist is great online humor/environmental magazine.) Apparently, the UPS concert was actually the kickoff of Guster’s Campus Consciousness Tour, a tour of college campuses meant to bring some attention to environmental issues within the student population. So in addition to the concert, there were activities and informational boothes dedicated to such issues, including a booth for one of our pet issues, biodiesel. (Props to Guster for using biodiesel in the tour buses.)

Anyway, cool to see a Tacoma event covered in the media, and many thanks to Guster for starting their tour here. In retrospect, wish we would have gone!

Check out the article here.

  1. Found your blog through Tacomaness.com and noticed that you are starting to explore Tacoma. My husband and I moved here within the last year and are starting to do the same. Just wanted to say hi to some fellow blogging Tacomans!
