Libations With Liberals

· Posted Tuesday June 6, 2006 by jamie

Wanna trash on Bush while knocking back some ice cold Busch? The Tacoma chapter of Drinking Liberally does all this and more every Wednesday, 8pm at Meconi’s. I’m told that they attract anywhere from 10-25 like-minded progressives each week, and in coming weeks will be inviting some of the local candidates and office holders as guests.

Here are the details, also available at the Drinking Liberally website:

Every Wednesday, 8:00 pm onward
Meconi’s Pub, 709 Pacific Ave (Near the bar, where else?)
Hosted by Andrew Austin and Nathe Lawver
tacoma (at) drinkingliberally.org
Join the Tacoma mailing list
Discuss in the Tacoma forum

I’m going to see if I can make tomorrow’s meeting…

  1. I wonder if this is some/all of the same lot that protests the Iraq war and Bush every Wednesday near Union Station?

  2. I think that’s People for Peace Justice and Healing that does the sign waving. There’s probably some overlap in the attendees, but there’s no beer at that event (that I know of), so it is at a distinct disadvantage, in my eyes.
