KUOW Public Radio Starting Another Station in Tacoma
· Posted Wednesday May 24, 2006 by jamie
Noticed while looking at the Seattle P-I that apprently KUOW, the NPR station out of UW, will be taking over the 91.7 spot on the FM dial formerly occupied by KBTC and more recently by KXOT (aka KEXP’s Tacoma translator). Of interest is the fact that KUOW will not merely be transmitting their primary signal, but instead offering alternate programming, in what they are billing as 48 hours of programming per day. Estimated live date is July 1st. Apparently they will be keeping the KXOT call letters; I would have like to have seen KUWT. Regardless, it should be fun to see what sort of programming they will have.
