Sixth Ave Dia de los Muertos Band Photos

· Posted Tuesday November 13, 2007 by jamie

Well, it took a bit of time for anything to bubble up, but pictures are starting to emerge of the Sixth Ave Dia de los Muertos procession on November 2nd. The band I pulled together and arranged music for (potentially “to be continued” in the future as the “Horns of Destiny”) turned out great. Things sounded good for a little-rehearsed street band, and we got lots of compliments. And even though (due to equipment limitations) we had to be stationary while playing, and thus couldn’t stay with the main procession, we had our own little crowd of “band groupies” that followed the band around. Ton of fun!

Thanks to (in no particular order) Kevin, Mike, Levin, Dennis, Tim, Isaac, Yuri, Dave, and Kat for playing, the organizers for letting us play, Epworth Lesourd United Methodist for providing a rehearsal location, the Brass Liberation Orchestra for the killer Moliendo Café arrangement, and for all of the various folks that helped out during the procession!

Without further ado, pictures!

  1. Nice touch with the Horns! Really helped round out the celebration. Looking forward to a reprise.
    Thanks!
