Spiffy New Façade for Primo Grill

· Posted Tuesday September 18, 2007 by jamie

I’m taking a day off from work today to get some projects done around the house, so I popped down to the barber on Sixth Ave to get my head shorn this morning. And what do I see but a brand-spankin’-new awning is being installed above the windows at Primo Grill. Kind of some fun, vibrant colors to brighten up that little block of Pine Street.

A quick email exchange with Charlie informed me that they will be adding more awnings to cover the remainder of the windows that border the restaurant. I’m guessing the current cocktail-lounge-style neon sign will be coming down, given the difference in color scheme, but I could be wrong. (Update: It appears that they’re leaving up the existing sign with the new awnings, but the colors actually work okay together.) Still waiting to hear back on whether sidewalk dining might be in the cards…

We moved into the neighborhood when Primo was very new (and just about the only nice restaurant, unless you count Lorenzo’s), so it’s been fun to see it’s continued success even as Sixth Ave has blown up in the ensuing years. It’s great to see that, even with their new venture, Crown Bar, coming online soon (and presumably taking up a lot of their time and energy), Charlie and Jacque are dedicated to keeping Primo Grill up to the high standard they’ve set.
