Tacoma…a town that grew up with lumber; a rough and tumble town flanked by the biggest mountain in the state. The perfect mix of urban and backwoods. But what is this?
Burke Kenny of Olympia, world champion beard-grower. That’s right, Mr. Kenny was crowned world champion in the “full beard styled moustache” division of the World Beard and Moustache Championships in Brighton, England.
Are we really going to let Olympia out-do us on this? C’mon, Tacoma, let’s throw out those shavers and show the world that we can do better than those hoy-hoy aristocrats in the state capital. You’ve got two years: the next competition is in 2009 in Anchorage. This is your assignment. Let’s represent.
