Successful Bike to Work. Next, Bike to Bar.

· Posted Friday May 18, 2007 by jamie

ThriceAllAmerican’s Bike to Work Ride was a resounding success this morning. (Right, Kristina?)

But tonight it gets even better. It’s Friday. You deserve a nice drink and some pleasant company. Join us for part two of Take Your Bike to Work Day, where we will be biking from the plaza by Tacoma Art Museum to Engine House No. 9. Who knows who may show up. We’ll be meeting at 5pm. (If you want to be a wuss about it, just meet us at the bar…)

  1. Wish I could’ve joined in. Had to dress all fancy like for a couple meetings.

Enjoy the ride back tonight! (don’t get a DUI on a bike or you’ll end up on the blogs for sure) ;)

  4. A multitude of people showed up. And by multitude, I mean myself and commenter #2.

I believe I have at least one confirmation for the evening ride.

  5. So, does anyone know, CAN you get a DUI on your bike? Is it as bad as a car DUI? I don’t plan to test any local cops, but this thread made me curious …

  6. Wouldn’t it be a BUI?

I know cyclists are supposed to follow the “rules of the road”, but I guess one would have to look at the language of the RCW and local laws as they relate to blood alcohol level to see if it specifies motor vehicles. Since you don’t need a license to operate a bicycle, it seems silly that they might take away your driver’s license for a “BUI”...

    But anyway…

Apologies if anyone tried to meet at E9 last night. Perhaps due to the blustery, drizzly weather, no one showed for the 5pm TAM meetup, so I grabbed a co-worker on the way back past the office and we decided to hit Doyle’s instead.
